THE LIMITATIONS OF HUMAN STRENGTH
Isaiah 31:3 - "Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together." (NKJV)
Greetings Excellencies,
In this verse, God reminds us of the limitations of relying on human strength and earthly systems. The Egyptians, representing human power and strength, are simply men. Their resources, symbolized by their horses, are only flesh and not divine spirit. No matter how mighty or influential they may seem, they are bound by the same limitations as us.
In times of difficulty, it’s easy to put our trust in earthly things—be it financial security, relationships, or even human wisdom. However, this verse warns us that when the Lord stretches out His hand, everything we rely on that is not grounded in God will fall. Whether we are helping or being helped, if our trust is in anything other than God, we will fall together.
This should not discourage us but rather remind us to place our complete trust in the Lord. He is our rock, our strength, and our deliverer. His help is unfailing and everlasting, unlike the temporary nature of human assistance.
When we face challenges, let’s remember that our true hope is in God alone. He will never fail us, even when all other support falters.
Short Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my unwavering strength. Help me to always place my trust in You alone, knowing that with You, I am secure.
